Professional psychological approaches for mental health treatment

Psychological Approaches

As outlined above, there are many types of concerns individuals present with. These Psychological Therapies fall into several categories. Some of the main Forms include;

Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT)

Are structured Approaches that help identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours?

Analytic Therapies

Are Approaches which pay attention to the complexity of our unconscious. Our unconscious are processes which lie outside information awareness. These developments can be bound up with the past (e.g. childhood, family, community and culture) and how they contribute to the formation of our psychology and personality.

Humanistic & Existential Therapies

Are Approaches which honour the importance of free-will, personal responsibility and self-actualisation. They simultaneously recognise the fundamental significance of death, aloneness, purpose and meaning.
